We strive to help in the best and most professional way we can. We would like to help you understand Harradine and Associates repeat prescription policy.
Many commonly used medications including ear and eye drops are licenced as prescription only medicines. This is generally for safety reasons. We are not able to prescribe or dispense such medications unless your pet is considered to be “under our care”. This means that your pet should be examined every three to six months but at the very minimum within the last twelve months, depending on the medication required.
We know this may be frustrating but we have to fill our legal obligations in responsible prescribing. These requirements are ultimately in your pet’s best interest. So we ask you to be patient and have your pet re- examined at the prescribed intervals.
To make this more efficient we would therefore ask you:
- Telephone your request for further supply of medication.
- Give at least 24 hours notice for your script to be filled.
- Do not wait until you have just run given the last tablet.
Please do not be offended if your script is not renewed. This will only mean that our veterinarians have your pet’s best interest at heart and require your pet to be reassessed prior to dispensing medication.
